A man who is alleged to have received a death threat from a person described as “head” of Limerick’s notorious McCarthy Dundon gang did not wish to proceed with a complaint he made to gardaí, a court has heard.

Larry McCarthy, aged 37, of Towerlodge, Old Cork Rd, Limerick, is charged with threatening to kill or cause serious harm to Noel Moore at his home at Windsor House, Donoghmore, Co Limerick, on July 28.

Mr McCarthy’s sister Lauren is married to a son of Mr Moore.
