Student ‘was having time of his life’ when he died
Hundreds of mourners at the funeral of 19-year-old Eamon Buckley heard that he had been enjoying “the time of his life” at a music festival in Croatia when he drowned in a freak accident.
Eamon and his twin brother Liam from Moycullen, Co Galway, along with several friends, had travelled to Split for a music festival last week when tragedy struck.
A Science student at NUIG, Eamon fell from a boat in the early hours of last Tuesday morning in Split harbour. His body was found by divers after a seven-hour search.
Hundreds packed St Nicholas Collegiate Church in Galway city centre for his funeral. The mourners were led by his parents Joy and Tom, brother Liam, older sister Caoimhe and younger sister Roisin.
