Woman dragged from car in robbery

A woman who was about to drive away from a filling station at night was dragged from her car and knocked to the ground where she hit her head, it was alleged at Cork District Court.

Hugh Maguire, of 28 Ravensdale Road, Mahon, Cork, was arrested by Garda Aoife Hayes and charged with attempted robbery of the car at the Esso filling station on South Link Rd, Cork on July 14.

He was cautioned after being charged but made no reply. Mr Maguire applied to be released on bail and Insp Ronan Kenneally said the prosecution was opposed to that application.
