The party’s public expenditure spokesman Sean Fleming denied the move was a pre-election bribe to voters.

Fianna Fáil is to use its Dáil time to present a bill on the issue, which would let home owners claim back up to a third of management fees to a maximum of €300 a year. Mr Fleming said the burden of property-related charges was now too heavy for many households after the imposition of water bills.
