Family kept human faeces in black bags on floor
‘Val’ rented a house in “pristine condition” in Cork to a couple with three young children.
When they moved out, he discovered that they had destroyed his house.

The three toilets in the house were blocked, and the family were using black bags on the floor as makeshift lavatories for a number of months.

Val found one black bag in the hallway filled with faeces and maggots.

Every appliance in the house needs replacing, and Val estimates he must spend €6,000 to restore the house to its previous condition.

Val contacted The Neil Prendeville Show on RedFM to warn other landlords about the family, as he is aware they are currently looking for accommodation on the northside of Cork city.

Many listeners expressed concerns about the welfare of the couple’s children, who had been living in such conditions.

One man recognised the house, having visited it a year ago.
“I delivered an appliance to this house last summer,” he said.
“The scary part is there was children living in this house also... One thing that the pictures can’t show is the smell in the house.”
