Teenager’s leg ‘almost hanging off’ after Limerick shooting

A mother comforted her badly wounded teenage son yesterday, minutes after he was shot in a Limerick housing estate.

The boy, 17, was with two others in a green area, near Carey’s Rd, when one produced a shotgun and opened fire.

Although badly wounded, the teenager managed to make his way onto the roadway and a passerby raised the alarm.
