Bid to end internet market borders enforced by companies

Companies deliberately prevent the sale of their goods and services cross-border online, ensuring they can charge different prices in the different countries according to an EU survey.

This means that although borders between EU member states have been abolished for trade and people, the internet market borders have been reinforced.

The EU’s competition chief, Margrethe Vestager, declared war on these practices yesterday, announcing she is opening an inquiry into the e-commerce sector.
