A man who died in an alleged “frenzied assault” at a house last Thursday night was stabbed 23 times, Limerick Distrtict Court has heard.

Two men Gerard Hogan, aged 32, of Raheen Square, Ballinacurra Weston, Limerick and Dylan Hayes, aged 20 of The Crescent, Kilteragh, Dooradoyle, Limerick, were yesterday refused bail by Judge Timothy Lucey.

Both are charged with assault causing harm to Shane Murphy, aged 31, at 1 The Grove, Pallsagreen, and with producing a knife while committing the alleged attack.
