The union representing workers at Dunnes Stores has confirmed that it has lodged a claim for a 3% pay increase for its members — and that its national protest march over terms and conditions at the company will take place on June 6.

Mandate said the march to the company’s head office in Dublin will be preceded by a series of “local protests and actions” with further details announced closer to the day.

“This protest will be an opportunity for the public to show solidarity with the workers who are seeking secure incomes and decent conditions of employment,” said Mandate assistant general secretary Gerry Light.
