Taoiseach told of murder by garda

Independent TD Clare Daly told the Dáil a garda had written to the Taoiseach regarding an incident when the officer said he saw a colleague shoot a member of the public but was told by superiors to deny being present.

Ms Daly said the Taoiseach passed the details to a review panel which was set up to probe some 300 cases of alleged garda wrong doing.

“Not one person from that review panel has contacted this person to ask him what murder this was, who was murdered and who was there,” she said.
