It’s understood the family members from Co Meath combined forces to purchase a four Quick Pick ticket which proved to contain the lucky numbers.

One of the winners said they’d only bought the ticket because they had been reminded by a family member to do so earlier in the day.

“I might never have bought the ticket if it wasn’t for that,” they said.

They picked their numbers out at Souhan’s filling station on Haggard St, Trim, and are now the proud owners of exactly €10,650,121, which they collected from Lotto headquarters in Dublin yesterday.

“We’ll help out our family, pay off our mortgages, get a new car or two, but most of all, we intend to enjoy it,” one of the winners told Lotto officials.

“We’re just so happy. It feels like life has just begun and the possibilities are endless.”

Another of the winners said they had been watching Match of the Day that evening and thought they’d just better check the ticket.

“So I looked up the results on Teletext and just couldn’t believe it.

“That night it was all rolling around in my head and I couldn’t sleep, but since then I’ve been buzzing,” they said.

Meanwhile, one lucky online player who scooped €2m on April 8 has not yet contacted the National Lottery.

The winning numbers were 2, 4, 22, 26, 30, 36 and the bonus number was 7.
