Limerick group wants end to direct provision

Migrants rights group Doras Lumni has welcomed a decision by Limerick City and County Council to support a motion calling for the immediate closure of the Mount Trenchard direct provision centre in Foynes and a commitment to end direct provision by end of 2015.

Yesterday, a former resident of Mount Trenchard and member of the End Direct Provision Limerick group, praised the council for its unanimous support, and added: “We are very grateful to Cllr (Cian) Prendiville and to the council for supporting this call.
