Rebekah Brooks to head up Irish news agency

Former tabloid editor Rebekah Brooks is reportedly returning to the Rupert Murdoch empire as head of Irish-founded social media news agency Storyful.

Ms Brooks was cleared of all charges in Britain’s phone-hacking scandal last summer and is a close ally of News Corp chief Rupert Murdoch. Her return to the media empire has been the source of much speculation since her acquittal.

The Financial Times was reporting last night that Ms Brooks was being lined up to run social news agency Storyful — founded by former RTÉ journalist Mark Little, which he sold to News Corp in 2013 for €18m.
