Last year, Lidl unveiled a range of women’s clothing which was snatched from the rails in no time by customers eager to snap up the store’s best bargains.
Its initial foray into the fashion world dubbed anundoubted success, the chain since decided to expand the line, delving into men’s trousers, shirts, and jackets.
Lidl’s Jasmine O’Brien said the store has seen an “increased demand” for clothing that’s both good value as well as fashion forward.
“The collection focuses on classic pieces and chic accessories, which can be mixed and matched to create the perfect spring and holiday capsule wardrobe at a fraction of the high street cost,” said Jasmine.
“It’s an exciting step for us to launch our full spring/summer collection.”
The new range boasts a nautical theme, inspired by Venice, the city of water. As such, the women’s selection features a range of stripy tops and dress, costing around €9.99 each. The line also offers jeans for €10.99 and €13.99, and denim dresses for €11.99.
Savvy shoppers can also bag themselves trench coats for €24.99, a necklace for €5.99 and ankle boots for €19.99 – overall, one full outfit consisting of top, bottoms, coat, shoes and necklace will cost less than €50.
To cover the transition from spring into summer, Lidl are also diving into beachwear, unveiling plans for less-than-a-tenner swimsuits, and less-than-a-fiver sunglasses and flip-flops.
In terms of menswear, the focus seems to be on the accessibility of fashion classics at prices that won’t break the bank.
Highlights include a selection of €24.99 blazers, available in blue, navy and beige, white and navy evening shirts for €10.99, and bomber jackets for €16.99. Coloured chinos are priced at €11.99, while runners are €6.99.
The new kidswear is also expected to draw a crowd, with most, if not all, of the brightly coloured and patterned items available for less than a tenner.
Items from the new collection will be available in Lidl stores nationwide from February 26.
