Funding for childcare ‘needs fivefold increase’

Campaign seeks improved pay and Government investment in the development of early education

Funding for childcare needs to increase fivefold to meet the standard of services successive governments have claimed they aspire to, the first national demonstration by the sector heard.

Around 2,500 workers in early childhood care and education rallied outside Leinster House at the start of a campaign to push for improved pay and investment in their services.
