Skunk-like cannabis linked to psychosis

A powerful “skunk-like” cannabis has been linked to one in four new psychosis cases.

Scientists at King’s College London found that the risk of psychosis was three times higher for users of the high-potency drug than for those who had never tried cannabis. There was a five-fold risk for those who used it every day.

The findings of the six-year study, published in the Lancet Psychiatry journal, suggests strong forms of cannabis can lead to serious mental illness.
