Irish Water staff cover up logos on company vehicles

Irish Water staff are covering up logos on company vehicles due to "health and safety concerns".

The company confirmed that branding is being hidden on a “case-by-case basis” after footage of an encounter involving one of its vans emerged online this week.

The video, recorded by two men, shows them confronting the driver of a white van. They ask the driver if he is recording footage in the area before one of them peels off what appears to be a magnetic white panel from the side of the van, revealing the GMC Sierra/Irish Water logo. The driver steps out to retrieve the panel, tells the men he is in the area to read meters, and leaves.
