Fine Gael has embarked on a regional blitz to convince undecided voters to vote yes in the same-sex marriage referendum.

Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald said she hopes the party’s information drive ahead of May’s marriage equality referendum will clarify a range of issues, and help ease any fears among older or rural voters.

She was speaking before addressing the first of the party’s four regional meetings in Cork’s Metropole Hotel on Thursday, organised by the party’s LGBT organisation
