Further water charge reprieve

Families and homeowners have been given another reprieve on water charges after Environment Minister Alan Kelly said people did not have to register by the Irish Water deadline of next Monday.

But there was confusion last night as to whether households would lose out on allowances if they sign up for the charging regime after the February 2 deadline.

The semi-state company had advised households to register details and occupant numbers by next Monday.
