‘Cork to Tralee road in dire need of repair’

Sections of the main Cork to Tralee road are in dire need of maintenance, especially between Killarney and Ballyvourney, it has been claimed.

South Kerry Independent Alliance councillor Michael Gleeson protested at the failure to provide funding this year to surface-dress the busy route.

He said: “We were told when the road was originally constructed it would be resurfaced after 20 years. That time has now elapsed, but there are no indications the necessary work will be done.’’
