Six have narrow escape as fire in house spreads

Six people had a narrow escape when a fire broke out and badly damaged two houses at a Galway City housing estate.

The alarm was raised when the blaze was discovered at Tirellan Heights, just off the Galway-Headford road, at about 6.15am yesterday.

Three units of Galway Fire Brigade were quickly at the scene as the fire spread from one of the homes to the adjoining property.
