ESRI forecasts 50,000 more people will be in work in 2015

The ESRI has forecast that there will be almost 50,000 more people in work in 2015, while the unemployment rate will fall to below 10%.

In its quarterly economic commentary, the economic thinktank forecasts that the number of employed people in Ireland will increase from 1.913m in 2014 to 1.962m next year.

The ESRI predicts that the number of unemployed people will fall by 34,000 to 210,000 in 2015 — bringing the unemployment rate down from an average of 11.3% in 2014 to 9.7% next year.
