Two bodies taken from River Lee
The Coast Guard, the Naval Diving Service, and an Garda Síochána were all involved in the recovery operation, which concluded at around 6pm.
Neither of the bodies have yet been identified, but it is understood that they may have been homeless.
A spokesperson for Anglesea Street gardaí said that the joint operation recovered the bodies by the Port of Cork sign on Custom House Quay, where the River Lee coming from either side of the island in the centre of the city converges.
