Town’s festive lights delayed

While some towns and traders may have lashed up the Christmas decorations the moment Halloween was over, Midleton may well be the last town in the country to switch on their lights.

Town’s festive lights delayed

Storms last winter damaged the lights in Midleton — some were salvaged and are now used to illuminate side streets but the main street has been left bare so far.

However, brand new town centre lights have been ordered from a company in Spain. Delivery is expected on December 11 and it will take up to three days to install them.
