Win King Nidge runners
The producers of Love/Hate have made a generous donation to Pieta House this Christmas â the original pair of King Nidge runners featured in this yearâs Love/Hate finale.
Now the charity â a support service to help prevent suicide and self-harm â will hold a public competition to win the coveted pair of kicks.
Hopeful entrants must âtext to winâ the runners, with each entry costing âŹ2, the majority of which is donated to Pieta House.
Joan Freeman, founder and chief executive of Pieta House, said the gift couldnât have come at a better time.
âThis year weâve a shortfall of âŹ300,000 due to an increased demand on our services.
âSo the timing of this very generous donation couldnât be better,â she said.
âNot only will you be in with a chance of winning but youâll also be helping Pieta House to continue to offer its vital services throughout the country.â
Pieta House has seen more than 4,800 clients this year and has provided more than 46,000 hours of counselling, an increase of more than 20% on last year.
Love/Hate producer Suzanne McAuley said she was delighted to be able to support the charity.
âKing Nidgeâs iconic runners are a coveted prize and we sincerely hope they will help raise the much-needed funds for Pieta House,â she said.
