Taoiseach Enda Kenny was accused of not doing enough to help homeless people after the death of a rough sleeper metres from Leinster House dominated the Dáil.

Opposition parties called for emergency measures to be put in place following the death of Jonathan Corrie in a doorway across the road from Leinster House.

The tragedy appeared to force the Government into addressing the issue as Environment Minister Alan Kelly said he would meet representatives from voluntary organisations tomorrow and the Dáil would hold a debate focused on the death next week.
