A man banned under the Sex Offenders Act from entering school buildings was caught at a girl’s secondary school asking about how he could access the area for "18-to- 22-year-olds".

He was jailed for a year yesterday.

Anthony Goodman, aged 69, of Charlemont Terrace, Wellington Road, Cork, was charged by Detective Sergeant Vincent O’Sullivan, that on June 11, just before 1pm, he entered Scoil Mhuire secondary school, Wellington Rd, Cork. That was one of six schools he was specifically banned from visiting.
