Lusitania memorial cruise to dock in Cobh for centenary

Cunard has announced it will host an exhibition of Lusitania memorabilia onboard a special cruise of the Queen Victoria cruise ship, which will be visiting Cobh next May to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the torpedoed liner.

Cunard owned the Lusitania which was sunk by a German U-boat off Kinsale on May 7, 1915, with the loss of 1,198 passengers.

The luxurious Queen Victoria liner will depart from Southampton on May 3 for the ‘Lusitania Remembered’ cruise and will arrive in Cobh on May 7.
