Ware to ‘Crash Cork’ with MTV

English singer-songwriter Jessie Ware and London electro remix duo Gorgon City will headline MTV Crashes Cork, a one-off event later this month in City Hall.

Tickets for the intimate gig on the banks of the Lee are priced at only €3.50 and the event will eventually be aired across MTV’s network of channels in 160 countries.

The event is on Thursday November 27, with Ware, a soulful female artist best known for her hit single Moments, revealing she has a Cork connection.

The 30-year-old said: “Crashing Cork with MTV is going to be gorgeous. I love an intimate show, it always feels really special. I’ve never been to Cork but seeing as my grandfather lived there, its hopefullygoing to feel like a second home.”

Performing with Ware is electro music duo — Kye ‘Foamo’ Gibbon and Matt ‘RackNRuin’ Robson-Scott — who have remixed Basement Jaxx tracks and collaborated with Klaxxon.

As well as the main concert, The Cork Music Trail comprises a series of gigs during November 24-26 with 30 of the best new Irish bands playing venues, daytime, across Cork City.

Established Irish groups will also rock the Savoy Theatre each evening. The daytime events are free and tickets for evening shows are limited.
