A man convicted of assaulting a garda was told by a sentencing judge "the blaggardism" had to stop.

Judge Seán Ó Donnabháin also referred to the “fluorescence” of the man’s evidence and outlandish behaviour.

The jury took approximately 90 minutes to reach an unanimous guilty verdict yesterday at Cork Circuit Criminal Court.
