Residents and businesses in Bandon have been warned there’s "no gain without pain" as they face major upheaval with work due to start early next year on three schemes.

Cork County Council is toappoint a liaison officer to help minimise disruption ahead of the works on Bandon’s water, sewerage, and flood prevention schemes.

Engineering consultants Byrne Looby & Partners are preparing contract documents for the completion of the €5m main sewerage scheme which will see extensive works in the town centre and on the Clonakilty Road, Dunmanway Road, and Glasslinn Road. Work is due to start on this next March and be completed by June 2016.
