It’s the Halloween costume its promoters are touting as mostly likely to go viral — but the ebola containment suit costume is surely an example of the ultimate in poor taste.

Several US outlets are selling ebola hazmat suits and bloodstained cheerleader outfits as they cash in on West Africa’s most devastating humanitarian crises of recent years.

One of those retailers, Johnathon Weeks of BrandsonSale, said the attire is in the spirit of the holiday: “If people are that serious about it, they don’t know what Halloween is about.”

Weeks said they didn’t stray away from anything controversial. “We are selling tons of Joan Rivers wigs,” he said. During the Chilean mining incident, BrandsOnSale sold “hundreds” of mining helmets while this year, their Mork & Mindy costumes are selling well.
