‘Scarlet Pimpernel’ asked to appear at council meetings

Irish Water —"the Scarlet Pimpernel" of today — is being asked to appear at quarterly meetings of Kerry County Council, as the Government, particularly Fine Gael, was accused of "making a hames" of it all.

Kerry County Council, where most of the time was devoted to concerns about Irish Water, heard the rollout was “a farce”.

Farmers with their own wells, and those in group schemes, were advised to burn their notices by one councillor, during a heated meeting where huge anger was directed at the new body.
