Special report: Community in shock as Mum to be charged in relation to toddler’s death

The level of state supports for the family of toddler Hassan Khan are set to be investigated following his shocking death.

Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald said the move is being considered as gardaí signalled the mother of the two-year-old, Hazel Waters, will appear today at a sitting of Dublin District Court at the Criminal Courts of Justice charged in relation to his death.

Hassan was found in a flat in Ballybrack, Dublin, on Thursday. It is understood he was stabbed in the neck. He was the subject of a Child Rescue Ireland alert on August 10. It was cancelled within an hour when he was found with his father, Mohammed Saleem Khan.
