Alleged car park rape ‘never happened’

Gardaí in Killarney, Co Kerry, have ceased investigation into the alleged rape of a woman in the town, saying such an event never happened.

The incident was reported to have occurred in the Fair Hill car park early on September 22, around the time Kerry’s All-Ireland football victory was being celebrated locally.

A full Garda investigation was launched and, a week ago, a description of a man reported to have been involved in an attack on a woman in her 20s was issued.
