A Tesco checkout worker, who became ill after accidentally inhaling anti-insecticide while scanning the item, has lost her claim for unfair dismissal.

Caroline Wrenn inhaled the anti-insecticide at her checkout in April 2010. She was out of work unwell as a result and didn’t return to work until July 2010.

The Employment Appeals Tribunal report stated, however, that in February 2011, Ms Wrenn “left work as she was suffering at work every day and every time a transaction involved AI [anti-insecticide] she was worried.
