Gardaí seek gang who tied up and robbed women

Gardaí are searching for a gang who tied up an elderly woman and her daughter before stealing "a substantial sum of money" from their home in a Cork suburb.

Gardaí believe the gang forced their way into the mother and daughter’s home at Hunter’s Green, Mahon, shortly before midnight on Monday.

They “physically manhandled” the two women, who were then “were tied up and verbally threatened,” according to Superintendent Barry McPolin, who is in charge of the investigation.
