The victim of an assault by a college student has asked a judge not to jail his attacker, Dublin Circuit Court has heard.

Cian Haddock punched Caolan Fanning during a shouting match between two groups of men at a Luas stop. The victim was knocked onto the Luas tracks and broke four of his teeth as a result.

Haddock, aged 22, of Glenbourne Walk, Leopardstown, Dublin, pleaded guilty to assault causing harm at Harcourt St on March 16, 2011.
