‘No hope’ of deal on €64bn bailout

One of German chancellor Angela Merkelās top advisers said there is āno chanceā of the Government getting a deal on the ā¬64bn bank bailout because the collapse was of Irelandās own making, adding: āIt was your property bubble.ā
āThe European Stability Mechanism can only be used in the future. It cannot be used for legacy debt. I donāt see a chance for Ireland on this,ā said German MP and economic policy spokesperson for the ruling CDU party Joachim Pfeiffer.
