Dead man may have lived in car say Carlow Gardaí
Gardaí in Carlow confirmed yesterday that a man, understood to be a foreign national, was taken by ambulance to St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny from a car parked near the Carlow town of Tullow last Monday.
Gardaí said the man was homeless and had been living “for some time” in the vehicle, understood to have been parked in Castle Lane, near Tullow.
A second man, also understood to be a foreign national, was also removed from the car.
It is understood the man who later passed away, may have been receiving treatment for alcohol addiction and may have been intoxicated when the ambulance arrived at the scene on Monday. It is also understood he may have had a heart attack.
One local source said the men had been living in the car for a month.
A member of the planning department of Carlow County Council said he had not been aware of the case and a member of staff at the St Vincent de Paul in Carlow town also said he had no knowledge of the situation.
The other man is understood to be in a stable condition in hospital.
