Man, 82, on rape charges gets bail

An 82-year-old American who was extradited to this country last week on rape and sexual assault charges was yesterday granted bail at Limerick District Court.

Bail conditions include the lodgment of €5,000 cash in court and that he resides at an address in Limerick, approved by gardaí.

The accused was arrested in America on an Irish extradition warrant and brought to Shannon by gardaí who had travelled to the US. He cannot be named for legal reasons.
