There were growing calls last night for Garth Brooks to play the three licensed concerts in Croke Park as thousands of fans with tickets wait anxiously for a resolution.

As the fallout continued from Dublin City Council’s decision to refuse licences for two of the scheduled five shows, there were also calls for Dublin city manager Owen Keegan to explain the decision to axe the July 28 and 29 dates.

All five shows are still in doubt after Garth Brooks issued a statement late on Thursday in which he said it was “five shows or none at all”. The US country star also heaped further pressure on Dublin City Council by claiming: “I have faith that Dublin City Council will make the best decision for the people of Ireland.”
