Funeral fall case settled

Mary Weldon claimed she injured her wrist when she fell over as she attended the funeral of her husband’s grandmother.

Ms Weldon, of Balbriggan, Co Dublin, had sued Fingal County Council as a result of the fall four years ago, as she was a visitor to the graveyard in Balbriggan on the day of the funeral, September 25, 2010. The council denied all claims.

When the case came back before Ms Justice Mary Irvine yesterday she was told it had been settled and could be struck out.
