They are lovin’ McDonald’s Cork

When you’re part of a global fast food chain that prides itself on uniformity, it’s no mean feat to set yourself apart from the rest — but John Blake has done just that — and he’s lovin’ it.

They are lovin’ McDonald’s Cork

Owner and operator of two McDonald’s restaurants in Patrick St and Winthrop St in Cork city, John has been feted for his “dedication, relentless focus on customer service, and significant community involvement as a McDonald’s franchisee”.

For his efforts, Mr Blake was presented with the Golden Arches award at a recent McDonald’s Worldwide Convention in front of an audience of thousands.

The achievements of the Cork native place him in the rarefied company of the top 1% of McDonald’s franchisees worldwide.

Mr Blake, who has been part of the McDonald’s operation for 12 years, said he feels privileged to receive the award.

“We have great people working in our restaurants who are dedicated and look after our customers to the highest standard,” said Mr Blake. “The support we have received from the community and McDonald’s Ireland over the past 12 years has been tremendous.

“To be recognised at a global level for the hard work and dedication our team deliver on a daily basis is a true honour.”

Adrian Crean, managing director, McDonald’s Ireland was equally pleased: “John is an excellent ambassador for McDonald’s and we are proud that a McDonald’s Ireland franchisee is once again acknowledged as the ‘best of the best’ by our peers.”
