McIlroy hints at winter wedding in 'Big Apple'

Rory McIlroy gave the strongest hint yet he and Caroline Wozniacki will tie the knot later this year in the ‘Big Apple’.

McIlroy hints at winter wedding in 'Big Apple'

Rumours are ripe the double Major champion and the Danish tennis ace will wed in late November or early December, once their playing commitments for the year have ended.

McIlroy was asked about suggestions of a New York wedding yesterday at Augusta National, venue for the Masters, starting Thursday.

“I don’t know where they got that rumour from,” he said smiling.

“Yes, it could be. We’ll see. Sources have sources. It is definitely nothing to do with me. I just say ‘yes, how much?’”

McIlroy arrived at Augusta on Sunday after a confidence-lifting final round 65 to share seventh place in the Shell Houston Open. Wozniacki will join him and is expected, weather permitting, to again don those unfashionable Augusta National white caddy overalls in tomorrow’s Par 3 contest.

“The weather doesn’t look great for Wednesday but I’ll play. Caroline said she’ll take the bag round again,” said McIlroy. “But her only concern is getting wet.”
