Gambling addict jailed for theft

A gambling addict used his next-door neighbour’s bank account and forged his signature to withdraw a total of €3,400 from his account in three separate transactions.

Garda Juliette Lynch testified yesterday that when the culprit’s home was searched, a notebook was found in which he had practised writing his neighbour’s signature.

Also found in the home of Neil Cummins, aged 47, at the apartment at Nicholas St, Cork, was the bank account of his next-door neighbour.
