Galway 'Happy' to use Pharrell inspiration

Take one chart-topping single, a little spring sunshine and a whole lot of Galway folk dancing and what you end up with is one pretty great video.

Inspired by Pharrell Williams’s number one single ‘Happy’, the Galway version sees locals swinging, jiving and dancing across the city with plenty local landmarks providing the backdrop.

Eyre Square, Spanish Arch and Salthill pier all feature throughout the video which you can see below.

Filmed over just five hours by director Kamil Krolak and featuring hundreds of performers including zumba and salsa dancers and more than 30 local businesses, the video has nearly 50,000 hits online already.

The version filmed in the City of the Tribes follows on from a Belfast version which surfaced online last month.
