More than 35,000 parking tickets were issued by Cork City Council last year, with almost 100 offenders being fined every day.

The number of tickets issued rose by 17% in 2013 — an increase of more than 5,000 tickets on the previous year.

Figures obtained under the Freedom of Information Act show the South Mall is the city’s biggest parking black spot, according to the figures obtained under Freedom of Information, accounting for more than 10% of all parking tickets issued in the city last year.
