€4.9m award for bookseller

The owner of an online seller of schoolbooks has been awarded €4.9m in damages arising out of a delay in providing orders in summer 2012.

The award was yesterday made by Mr Justice Paul Gilligan in favour of Entrepreneur Supplies Ltd, owner of schoolbooks.ie, who had sued Aeon Solutions Ltd, from whose warehouse the books were distributed, after orders were delayed for several weeks.

Entrepreneur alleged that Aeon, in failing to send out the books from its Dublin warehouse in time, had acted in breach of contract.
