Fianna Fáil has nominated teacher Norma Moriarty, from Waterville, to replace Cllr Paul O’Donoghue on the party’s ticket in the South and West Kerry area for the May local elections.

Attached to Pobal Scoil Inbher Sceine, Kenmare, Ms Moriarty, who has been on the board of IRD Waterville for 15 years, will join Cllr Michael O’Shea, Brendan Fitzgerald and John Francis Flynn on the ticket.

Yesterday, she said she received a call from the party last week and gave due consideration to a request to run. Ms Moriarty’s family has been involved in FF for many years and she served on the party’s Comhairle Dáil Ceanntair.
